FUN FACT! wrote this on the Rhdoes that Roger and i inherited when I was angry about capitalism. If you're a Chumped fan, this is basically a variation on a theme that inspired the song "Someday" which is about a Marxist concept elaborated by the scholar David Harvey.
"The battle over minutes and seconds, over the pace and intensity of work schedules, over the working life. . .over the working week and day (with rights to ‘‘free time’’). . .has been, and continues to be, right royally fought."
I've kept this quote in my stickies on my desktop since I wrote Someday in 2011. Unfortunately, we're still fighting.
lyrics
you can have your money
it was never mine
i'll trade you back your pennies
for my precious time
you can always make more money
you can never make an hour
the wallet, an illusion
my watch it holds the power
so take it, take it, take it
i don't need it anymore
i'd rather be a beggar
than your pretty little whore

This record epitomizes the beauty, love, and sincerity that define Laura Stevenson as an artist. She keeps it honest, doesn't flinch at sadness and rage—but she also considers joy. She doesn't despair. Neither should we. Not while we can listen to music like this. djuss
